What Are Spout Pouches?

Spout pouches are flexible packaging bags fitted with a rigid spout and cap, allowing liquid and semi-liquid products to be poured, squeezed or sipped with control. Most designs include a bottom gusset so the pouch stands upright on the shelf.

Spout pouches suit liquids and semi-liquids such as juices, sauces, edible oils, honey, purees, liquid detergents, handwash and shampoo. Suitability depends on product chemistry, fill temperature and shelf-life, and should be validated.
Avnflex offers corner and centre spouts with screw caps, flip-top caps and tamper-evident caps in different diameters. The right spout depends on product viscosity, pouch size and the filling machine.
Selected laminate structures can support hot-fill applications. Maximum fill temperature depends on the structure and must be confirmed with Avnflex before ordering.
Properly specified spout pouches with welded spouts and well-sealed seams are designed to reduce leakage risk. Material and fitment compatibility should be validated for each product and transport condition.
Avnflex offers digital printing for short runs and rotogravure printing up to 9 colours for bulk orders, with matte, gloss, soft touch and metallic finishes.
Recycle-ready mono-material PE structures can be developed for selected applications. Actual recyclability depends on the complete construction and local recycling facilities.
Spout pouches can be filled on suitable pre-made pouch filling machines. Share your machine type and pouch dimensions so Avnflex can confirm compatibility.
